Big Leaps/ Little Leaps

What is Big and Little Leaps?

Big/Little Leaps is a creative movement "Dance with Me" class for special needs students who need extra support. In this setting there is a strong focus on parent/adult and child participation. The parent/adult plays an integral role in the class by providing comfort and modeling participation. These relaxation techniques teach young children about their budding bodies. Motor coordination, play skills, language development, and social emotional skills are all enhanced and built upon during this time together. Environmental awareness is where it all begins! 

We offer big/little leaps dance and big/little leaps acro. These classes are by invite only. 

Requirements 

All ages!
Shoes: 

• To be discussed with the instructor to meet all student accommodations and expectations
  

Dancewear: 

• Black leotard 
• Pink or tan tights 
  
• Hair pulled back neatly, away from face
  
• If this is not appropriate for your child's needs, please reach out to his/her instructor for them to better assist your family 

Boys

Boys should wear athletic shorts or pants (no sweatpants) and a t-shirt. Solid black or white is preferred. 
Shoes: 

• Black A2J jazz shoes (purchased and sized in the lobby at the front desk)

Dress Code Policy

A2J has strict guidelines with regards to shoes and attire permitted at each level in the classroom. Consult the A2J Crew Handbook for guidelines or contact the studio with any specific questions. We have a team store where shoes and dance attire can be purchased.
