A2J Crew 2023-34 Dance Instructor Internship Position
Internship Description
The A2J Crew Dance Kompany is looking to empower students as they develop into well-rounded and experienced dance instructors. A2J Crew interns will gain experience in writing curriculum, classroom material, and choreography. Interns will also have opportunities to help direct performances and contribute to teacher collaboration meetings. Graduation from this program will include a certificate of completion to be presented to any studio that they should wish to desire to teach at in the future. Students will also be able to attach this experience to their resume for upcoming careers.

Application |
Potential interns need to submit a portfolio (cover letter, resume, and head shot) to the front desk no later than Thursday, June 17, 2021. Students need to disclose which genre of classes they desire to teach and an explanation for each in their cover letter. Formal interviews will occur on Thursday, June 24, 2021. Individuals receiving a call back will demonstrate their teaching abilities and perform authentic choreography that the student has written themself without external assistance. They will be asked to schedule a time on Thursday, July 15, 2021 for this when receiving the call back. Intern positions will be posted on Friday, July 16, 2021 on our mobile app (A2J Crew Dance Kompany).

Requirements |
Interns will teach or assist in at least one technique class(ballet/jazz), one tap or clog, and one additional class (hip hop, musical theatre, acrobatics, etc). The age and technical level of the class will be determined based on the student's dance history and teaching experience. Interns will be required to be enrolled in at least one technique class (ballet/jazz) for the 2021-22 dance season and at least one class per genre that they desire to teach.
