What is Hip-Hop?

Hip-Hop is a genre of dance that allows people to express themselves without barriers through "freestyle" dance or move through more structured choreography. As all other forms of dance, there are technique and fundamentals specific to this style.

Requirements

AGE 18+ MONTHS

Shoes:

• Recreational: Black A2J hip-hop shoes (purchased and sized in the lobby at the front desk)
• Competition: Hip-Hop shoes are purchased additional to the costume. Miss Jill will pick them and provide information for purchase. Check the Kompany Store tab for further directions.

Dance Wear:

• Black leotard ​
• Dance pants/shorts
• Hair pulled back neatly, away from face

Boys 

Boys should wear athletic shorts or pants and a t-shirt. Solid black or white is preferred.

Dress Code Policy

A2J has strict guidelines with regards to shoes and attire permitted at each level in the classroom. Consult the A2J Crew Handbook for guidelines or contact the studio with any specific questions. We have a team store where shoes and dance attire can be purchased.
